How to get here

Brisbane Airport is approximately a 2.5 hour drive with both the Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast Airports a 1 1/2 hour drive. Airport and Bus Transfers are available and can be organized by contacting the reception of the Plantation Resort at Rainbow. TRAVELLING TO RAINBOW BEACH 2.5 hours north of Brisbane - 1.5 hours north of Noosa - 45 mins east of Gympie Be careful using your Sat Nav. - the route selected will take you on a dirt road via the Cooloola Way. We advise using the Bruce Highway to Gympie and then follow the signs to Tin Can Bay then to Rainbow Beach. Rainbow Beach is fast becoming the NEW RESORT TOWN on SE Queensland Coast. It is approximately 2½ hours from Brisbane Airport, 1½ hours by road from Noosa. Both the Fraser Coast (Hervey Bay) and Sunshine Coast (Maroochydore) Domestic Airports are a 1½ hour drive. From Brisbane, take the Bruce Highway heading north and look for a right hand turn (about 1.5ks past the AFL football grounds on the left, opposite the United Service station) as you reach Gympie. Follow the signs to Tin Can Bay/Rainbow Beach and then on to Rainbow Beach. Once in Rainbow Beach follow the road straight into town - we are opposite Food Works, turn right at Food Works, then right again. Reception is just on the left. Approximately 1.5 klm from the Welcome to Rainbow Beach sign. A much more enjoyable route is to take a 4WD along the beach north of Noosa - All driving on this route is on sand and can only be done in a 4WD at low tide. To reach the beach north of Noosa you have to take the ferry at Tewantin which crosses the Noosa River at regular intervals during the day. A copy of the tide times is very useful as many adventurers have come unstuck by going at the wrong time. When you exit the beach from take the first left and follow the road the town to our reception. Approx 1.5klm from the beach exit.
